Dear Parents and Guardians,
We had a fantastic first three days of school! It has been wonderful welcoming our students back to campus, and we appreciate your support as we begin another great year at Hampton Cove Middle School. Our students have done an outstanding job learning routines, meeting new teachers, and getting settled into their classes.
Below are a few important dates and reminders for the upcoming two weeks:
Monday, August 10
6th Grade Level Meetings. Our administrators and counselors will meet with all 6th grade students to review expectations, procedures, and answer any questions as they begin middle school.
Tuesday, August 11
7th Grade Level Meetings. Administrators and counselors will meet with all 7th grade students.
HCMS Band Parent Meeting at 6:00–8:30 PM. Band parents are encouraged to attend this important meeting to learn about the upcoming school year and receive important information about the band program.
Wednesday, August 12
8th Grade Level Meetings. Administrators and counselors will meet with all 8th grade students.
Thursday, August 13
Intruder/Lockdown Drill. Student safety is our highest priority. We will conduct an intruder/lockdown drill as part of our required school safety procedures. Staff will review expectations with students prior to the drill.
Friday, August 14
Club Selections. Students will select their clubs for the school year. Each student will rank multiple club choices. Their first selection will be assigned for the first semester, and another one of their selected choices will become their club for the second semester.

Open House at 4:00–6:00 PM. We look forward to welcoming families to campus for Open House. This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and learn more about your child's courses for the year.
