Huntsville High School showcased its excellence in cybersecurity by dominating the High School State CyberPatriot 18 competition, earning state championships in both the Open and All-Service divisions. This achievement marks the second consecutive year that Huntsville High School’s Open Division team has claimed the state title.

Seniors Andrew Buchholz, Walker Williams, Zyaan Kahn, and Austill Baker, along with junior Owen Brown and sophomore Sam McMillion, were named Overall State Champions and Open Division State Champions. The team placed in the top 2% of 4,164 high school teams nationwide, earning an invitation to the National Semifinals, held January 22–24. Andrew, Walker, Zyaan, and Sam were also members of last year’s championship-winning team, continuing a strong tradition of excellence.

Huntsville High School also captured the All-Service Division State Championship. Team members Carson Mignano, Trip Mosby, and Denson Chatfield (seniors), along with Lydia Gifford and Amir Lopez (juniors), represented the school’s Space Force JROTC unit. They competed against JROTC and Civil Air Patrol units across the state to earn this prestigious honor.

These outstanding accomplishments highlight Huntsville High School’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and innovation in cybersecurity education.
