Jemison High School is proud to announce the opening of its very own student-run Redstone Federal Credit Union branch, a unique initiative designed to provide students with hands-on work experience and financial education.
This program gives JHS students the opportunity to build essential soft skills including professionalism, confidentiality, confidence, and communication, all while gaining valuable insights into real-world banking. The Jemison High School branch marks the 10th high school branch opened by Redstone Federal Credit Union, and it is the first and only branch within Huntsville City Schools.
The branch will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., aligning with Jemison’s second block lunch rotation. This schedule allows both faculty, staff, and students to conveniently take advantage of on-site banking services. While the branch is primarily intended for the JHS school community, school officials or approved visitors who are already on campus may also utilize the branch. Please note that the branch is not open to the general public.
In addition, Redstone Federal Credit Union has designed a special Jemison High School Affinity Visa debit card. Each time the card is used, Redstone donates cash back directly to Jemison High School, providing an ongoing benefit that supports students and school programs.
This exciting partnership between JHS and Redstone Federal Credit Union reflects a commitment to preparing students for future careers while also fostering financial literacy and giving back to the school community.
