Denver, CO-- Lee High School is proud to celebrate Ms. Walker, an English teacher and former student teacher on our campus, who took the stage today at the National Council of Teachers of English conference in Denver. Ms. Walker was invited to speak about her experiences as an African American woman entering the teaching profession, offering insight, honesty, and inspiration to educators from across the nation.
Her session highlighted the challenges, triumphs, and personal journeys that shape the experiences of Black women in education. By sharing her story, Ms. Walker helped amplify voices that have historically been underrepresented in the field, encouraging other educators to reflect on equity, representation, and the importance of diverse perspectives in schools.
Ms. Walker continues to make a powerful impact both inside and beyond her classroom. Her dedication to her students, her advocacy for Black women in education, and her commitment to creating inclusive learning spaces reflect the very best of the teaching profession.
