Huntsville, Ala. — Lee High School has officially been reclassified to Class 5A, Region 8 for athletics under the Alabama High School Athletic Association, marking an important new chapter for Generals athletics.

The reclassification places Lee alongside Albertville, Arab, Boaz, Columbia, Fort Payne, Jemison, and Scottsboro in one of North Alabama’s most competitive regions. Beginning this upcoming season, Lee student-athletes will compete under the new Class 5A designation across AHSAA-sponsored sports.

“Competing in Class 5A, Region 8 brings new opportunities for our students to continue building pride, discipline, and school spirit through athletics" Lee High School Principal Mrs. Torain said.

The AHSAA conducts reclassification every two years based on enrollment data to ensure competitive balance statewide. Lee’s new placement reflects changes in student population while maintaining alignment with schools across the region.

Lee High School looks forward to the excitement this reclassification brings and remains committed to supporting student-athletes through strong coaching, sportsmanship, and community support.
