McDonnell Elementary came alive with color, culture, and community as we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an evening full of joy and tradition. Families gathered together to enjoy a wide variety of activities that highlighted the rich heritage and contributions of Hispanic culture.
The night was filled with delicious food from local food trucks, creative arts and crafts, lively piñatas, and fun face painting for children of all ages. Our cafeteria walls became a gallery showcasing the beautiful artwork of our talented students, giving families a chance to admire the creativity and learning happening at McDonnell.
One of the highlights of the evening was the incredible live performance by Latin Roots, who shared traditional dance and music with our school community. Our very own students also took the stage—our 4th and 5th grade students performed the traditional folk dance Los Machetes, and one of our talented 2nd grade students wowed the audience with a special solo performance.
The evening was a true reflection of our school’s commitment to celebrating diversity and bringing families together. With so many smiles, laughter, and shared experiences, it was clear that our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration was a meaningful and memorable event for all who attended.
At McDonnell Elementary, we are proud to honor the cultures and traditions that enrich our community and our students’ lives. We look forward to many more opportunities to learn, celebrate, and grow together.
