Our 8th grade students are learning about the composition of matter in science class. In a hands-on activity, they used building blocks to model examples of pure substances and mixtures. This lesson helped students see how matter can be made up of a single type of particle or a combination of different types. This activity helped our 8th graders build a deeper understanding how the properties of matter are used to classify substances in the real world.
