two students in the lab making a density column

Our 8th graders explored density today in science class! Students first discovered how to calculate the density of an irregularly shaped object using water displacement, applying Archimedes’ principle in action. Afterwards, they created colorful density column to see how liquids of different densities naturally stack on top of each other. This hands-on lab gave students the opportunity to practice measuring, observing, and making scientific connections in a fun and memorable way.
