Students in 8th grade science enjoyed a fun and engaging lesson as they made hot chocolate to review science concepts from this semester. Students explored the difference between mixtures and solutions, identified the solute and solvent, and observed how solubility changes with thermal energy. Heating the water allowed students to see firsthand how temperature affects how quickly and completely substances dissolve. The activity provided a meaningful and memorable way to connect abstract science vocabulary to real-world experiences, all while enjoying a warm treat together.
