Eighth-grade science students recently investigated the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration using fan cars in a hands-on lab. By adding different amounts of mass to the cars, students collected data on how changes in mass affected motion. Students calculated the average speed of the fan car over different distances and analyzed how the motion changed as mass increased. They then graphed average speed versus distance to visualize patterns in the data and connect their results to Newton’s Second Law of Motion.
