Mountain Gap Middle School hosted an exciting and informative Career Day that gave students a firsthand look at a wide variety of career opportunities. Middle school students explored different companies and learned about the many types of jobs available in today’s workforce. Guest speakers shared about careers in the IT field and highlighted pathways that do not require a traditional four-year college degree, explaining how certifications and technical training can open doors to successful careers too.
Students also participated in a “Game of Life” budgeting activity, where they selected a career and worked with a realistic monthly salary to manage expenses. This hands-on experience helped students understand the importance of financial planning and how career choices can impact lifestyle decisions. Career Day was a meaningful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning to real-world possibilities and begin thinking about their future goals.
