We love science at Mountain Gap! Our sixth graders are diving into the Sun–Earth–Moon system through hands-on learning and scientific exploration. This week, students experimented with a radiometer to observe how light energy from the sun can transfer energy and create motion. By shining light on the radiometer and watching the vanes spin, students connected their observations to how solar energy affects Earth. This engaging activity helped students better understand the role of the sun in our solar system and how energy from the sun drives many processes on Earth. We love seeing our students think like scientists as they explore big concepts through interactive experiments!
