two 8th grade students experimenting with an electromagnet

Our 8th grade students recently dove into the fascinating world of magnetism through an engaging, hands-on lab experience. They experimented with magnets to feel firsthand the forces of attraction and repulsion, gaining a deeper understanding of how magnetic forces act without direct contact. Students also tested electromagnets, exploring how electricity can generate magnetic fields. One of the highlights of the lab was watching magnetic fields come to life as iron shavings revealed the invisible patterns surrounding magnets. It was an exciting and interactive way for students to see science in action and better understand the forces that shape our world.
