Seventh and eighth grade students are learning about the importance of mental health, emotional wellness, and supporting one another. Mrs. Formby, our school counselor, led lessons with the students in the library this month.
Mrs. Formby's lessons utilized the Thriveway P.A.T.H. (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) curriculum, an evidence-based program designed to empower middle schoolers with practical tools to:
Recognize warning signs in themselves and peers
Build healthy coping strategies and emotional regulation skills
Seek help from trusted adults when feeling overwhelmed
The lessons coincide with our recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) dedicated September to sparking meaningful action around one of the most urgent issues facing youth today.
If you have any questions, please reach out directly to Mrs. Formby.
