Things are heating up in 6th grade science!
Students stepped into the lab to explore convection currents through hands-on observation. By watching heat transfer in action, students gained a deeper understanding of how heat within Earth's mantle creates movement deep below the surface.
Connecting these lab findings to Earth’s layers helped students visualize how convection currents act as the engine driving tectonic plate movement, earthquakes, and mountain formation. Great work by our 6th graders as they continue exploring the dynamic processes that shape our world!
