After reading the story , Prairie Fire, 3rd grade classes made an exciting connection to the real world by inviting the brave firefighters from Station 8 to visit them. They talked to them about what it's like to be a firefighter, the important work they do every day, and the courage it takes to help keep us safe. They got a chance to see their huge fire truck up close and explore all the amazing equipment they use. They showed students their turn-out gear, which is the special suit they wear to protect themselves in a fire. It was so cool to learn from the experts who protect our community!
