Dressed for Destiny, hosted by Girls with Pearls and the Young Gentlemen of MLK, was an empowering event focused on leadership, confidence, and purpose founded by Quanisha Ford, 3rd grade teacher. Students dressed for success and were greeting in the morning by district leaders, community leaders, mentors, Alabama A & M students, and more. They gained valuable guidance on character, discipline, and achieving their goals. The event highlighted the importance of preparation, self-worth, and community support in shaping future leaders. The event also created opportunities for networking and building positive relationships. Students were reminded of the importance of making strong first impressions. Volunteers stayed back to read books with students as well. The atmosphere was filled with encouragement, pride, and motivation. Both groups demonstrated excellence and a commitment to success. Overall, the experience left a lasting impact on everyone involved and we will host another one in April.
