Today was a great day of learning at MLK and collaboration with our kindergarten teachers! As an extension of our PAUSE professional learning, we engaged in a lesson study focused on encoding, decoding, and making meaning of high-frequency words within the LETRS phonics framework. We are grateful for teachers who are willing to dig into the work, collaborate openly, and continually refine their instructional practices to support our youngest readers. The level of teamwork, reflection, and commitment to student success was inspiring to see. Together, we are building strong literacy foundations and creating meaningful learning experiences for all students. Thank you to our reading specialist Ms. Parker and Alabama Reading Initiative Regional Literacy Specialist, Mrs. Curlee for your continuous support.
