Dear MLK Family,
We are so excited to relaunch our House System at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School! To our new families, welcome! We are thrilled to have you as part of our MLK Bulldog family. To our returning families, thank you for your continued support as we bring back this special tradition and make it even stronger this year!
The House System is designed to build community, character, connection, and school pride among our students and staff. Each student and staff member will be placed into one of four unique Houses. Once you are in a house, you cannot change your house. Throughout the school year, students will have opportunities to earn points, build friendships, demonstrate positive character, and participate in fun challenges and activities with their House. At MLK, we believe that every student deserves to feel a strong sense of belonging, pride, and motivation. Our House System brings our school community together by giving students and staff a team to cheer for while encouraging them to live out the values that make us stronger as a school family.
Isibindi (Green) – Courage: This House represents bravery, resilience, and the strength to overcome obstacles. Students in Isibindi are encouraged to be bold and courageous in and out of the classroom.
Amistad (Red) – Friendship: Rooted in kindness and loyalty, Amistad promotes genuine connection and teamwork. These students are known for their strong relationships and compassion for others.
Altruismo (Black) – Givers: Altruismo stands for generosity and selflessness. Members of this House find joy in giving, sharing, and uplifting those around them.
Reveur (Blue) – Dreamers: This House celebrates creativity, imagination, and big dreams. Reveur students strive for excellence through innovative thinking and vision.
