Congratulations to the Columbia High School Feeder Pattern Bands for being recognized by the Micheal Sewell Memorial Foundation for participating in their Service Through Music Project. The Micheal Sewell Memorial Foundation is a partner with the Band Directors Marching Band. Our director, Shelman Miller, marched with them in the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and will join them again in the 2026 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. The organization tasked its participating directors with a community service project with their band programs. The theme of this year’s project is “The Magic of Teamwork”, where joint performances are organized. Mr. Miller submitted the joint performances of the CHS feeder pattern during our Homecoming Tailgate and Football Game. Each band received a certificate of recognition and will also be recognized in January at the SABD (Salute to American Band Directors) banquet prior to the groups parade performance. Thank you to our feeder school directors, Mr. Taylor Davis, and Mr. Anthony Dent for having your students join us. Additionally, thank you to Morris Middle School and Williams Middle School, as well as our own CHS administration for your support for the arts.
