On November 13th and 14th, MMS 7th Graders took field trips to Hays Nature Preserve in Hampton Cove. Students collected and identified leaves, measured trees, learned about the layers of a healthy forest, investigated soil samples, and hiked 3+ miles to observe wildlife. This field trip, which was divided over two days to accommodate all 120 students, was provided by The Huntsville Green Team and Environmental Education Coordinator Joel Donelan. Thank you, Green Team, for this opportunity!
