On Tuesday, February 3rd, MMS's own Willis Wheeler and 57 other spellers from across the county vied for the title of County Spelling Champ. Students from all public school districts within the county as well as private schools and home school cooperatives gathered at the Academy of Arts and Academics theater for the competition. The Emcee for the event, Susan McDougal, shared that the total number of students involved in all local bees totalled ever 5, 800. Willis held his own against champions from across, coming in 12th place. Wat to go, Willis!
