Last week, a group of our 4th grade GATE students spent time serving at the Manna House as the culminating experience of their service learning project focused on helping people experiencing homelessness in our local community.
What made the day especially meaningful was a moment that happened as two of the girls were leaving. On their way to the car, they turned back and asked Mrs. Young, “Can we do this again next Saturday?” That simple question said it all. These students are not only learning about their community, they are developing a genuine compassion for others and a desire to continue serving.
We are so proud of the kindness and empathy they are showing at such a young age.
