NCTHS student poses with representatives from the forestry program.

Atom Stoltz, a junior at NCTHS, recently bridged the gap between his career dreams and professional reality by meeting with two top student leaders from Alabama A&M University’s (AAMU) Forestry program. Atom gained firsthand insight from: Mr. Elijah McCray (Tuskegee, AL): Junior and President of the Forestry Club, focused on sustainable forest management and Mr. Cedric Burrell (Mississippi): Graduating senior and Chairman of the Fire Dawgs, AAMU’s student-led wildland fire fighting organization. The discussion focused on the unique rigors of wildland firefighting, which requires mastering ecology and weather patterns rather than just traditional suppression. Through Fire Dawgs, Atom learned that AAMU students don't just study; they train for real-world environmental threats.
