Twickenham the Tortoise being petted by multiple students during the NALZ program.

The North Alabama Zoological Society (NALZ) visited our school on Thursday, October 16, and Friday, October 17 with four ambassador animals. They brought a hedgehog, a tortoise, a gecko, and a snake to share with our students. Every single student in our school had a chance to interact with Twickenham the tortoise as part of the program and they also learned alot about the animals!! Students learned about animal classification and neat things like the differences between tortoises and turtles. It was a super cool program!

This program was possible because of a STEM grant recieved by our GATE teacher, Ms. Aguilar!!
