Flowers for the celebration of Dia de los Muertas

The Ridgecrest Ofrenda with photographs of family members and items that they enjoyed., as well as decorations for Dia de los Muertos.

An ofrenda is a decorated altar central to Dia de los Muertas built to welcome and honor the spirits of deceased loved ones.

Last year our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) teacher, Ms, Aguilar, created an ofrenda to honor deceased family members of Ridgecrest Rockets. This year, her GATE students wanted to recreate an ofrenda on their own. They took the time to find out about every family member being honored and about things that were important to them while they were alive. They made items for the ofrenda by hand. Everyone was so impressed at their thoughtfulness in creating the ofrenda for our community!
