Congratulations to our 2025 teacher of the year, Ms. Jackie Johnson! Every year our faculty and staff vote for a fellow teacher who has exemplify expertise in their field, strong classroom strategies, and the ability to guide students of all backgrounds to achieve excellence. Ms. Johnson has been teaching 35 years, many of those at Ridgecrest. She has mentored other teachers, innovates in and out of the classroom, and collaborates effectively with both students and their families.
This year Huntsville City Schools gave a stipend of $500 to each school's chosen Teacher of the Year. Ms. Johnson was surprised in her classroom by Directors of Leadership, Fredrick Barnes and Caroline Obert on November 14. Her students were whooping and cheering! Everyone was very excited for her.
