Each year Ridgecrest has a school-wide Spelling Bee Competition. Each class in second through fifth grade has a class competition and the class winner then competes at the school level. On December 12th, we hosted our school competition which was well attended by parents and classes watched on Zoom. It was a very exciting competition and some of the words were very hard!
The Bee went nine rounds and the first place winner was Bryan Cruz, a third grader in Ms .Barksdale's homeroom. He won with the word zooming! He will be representing Ridgecrest in February at the Madison County Spelling Bee. We know he will do great!
2nd place was Austin Mase, a fifth grader, and 3rd place was Ryleigh Stark, a second grader.
