Ms. McKay, Ridgecrest's art teacher, taught some fun art projects for Youth Art Month this year!

Our 4th and 5th graders used ACAP standards to construct geometric shapes while applying principles of design to create art. Students used measurement tools (protractors and rulers), geometric construction, and color theory to create and overlapping geometric composition. Students demonstrated an understanding of shape properties, fractions and color interaction while applying principles of design such as balance, emphasis and unity.

Congratulations to fifth grader Emily Diaz and and third grader Kimberly Rojas whose artwork was chosen to be displayed at the Huntsville Museum of Art for Youth Art Month!
