On April 1st, it was the teachers' chance to prank their students and some of our teachers went all out!!

Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Barksdale's 3rd grade classes learned about a rare bird that only visits Huntsville every couple years. The bird is called a Lirpa Loof and it loves marshmallows! Students held up marshmallows to try to attract a Lirpa Loof to our outdoor classroom.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Dodson's 2nd grade class was also searching for a special bird called a Sloof Lirpa in the open field behind the school. Despite flapping arms and bird calls, they also did not have much luck finding this mysterious bird.

The teachers had the last laugh when they told their students the birds were not real and the names were APRIL FOOLS spelled backwards!!
