International Earth Day was celebrated this year on April 22 with the theme "Our Power, Our Planet." To honor Earth Day, our fifth grade Gifted and Talented (GATE) students planned activities for our school. They went into first grade classrooms to read them a story about Earth and then guided through a craft. They also led a campus clean up during PE classes. Thank you to Ms. Aguilar, our GATE teacher, and the fifth grade GATE students for sharing the importance of Earth Day!
