In a move to enhance safety and reduce traffic congestion, WHES has successfully introduced a new traffic pattern for its 3rd through 5th-grade students. The change, which went into effect on Monday, August 4, has already shown positive results in managing the flow of vehicles.
The new traffic route specifically targets the car line for older elementary students, aiming to alleviate the previous backup of traffic on Todd Mill Road. Parents and guardians dropping off or picking up students in grades 3-5 now follow a revised path, turning from Todd Mill Road onto Torino Drive, then onto Dortmund Drive before making a final right turn onto Cannstatt Drive.
It's important to note that the change only affects the car line for 3rd through 5th-grade students. Families with children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will continue to use the front car line.
