Weatherly Heights Elementary is buzzing with pride after our school spelling bee on December 12, 2025! This event brought together our top spellers from across the school, including the classroom winners who earned the honor of representing their classes. Congratulations to every student who competed. It takes preparation, bravery, and real focus to spell in front of an audience, and our students showed all three.

At the end of a strong competition, 5th grader Greyson Ballow was named our Weatherly Heights Spelling Bee Champion. Greyson then continued the journey by representing our school at the county spelling bee on February 3, 2026. We are proud of the way he represented our Roadrunner community!

Spelling bees are about more than getting a word right. Preparing for a spelling bee helps students strengthen vocabulary, improve reading and writing, and build confidence. Students also learn to stay calm under pressure, persevere through challenges, and think carefully about word patterns, roots, and meanings.

Congratulations again to Greyson, and to all of our classroom winners and participants who made the school spelling bee a success. Way to go, Roadrunners!
