On April 17th, Weatherly Heights Elementary School was transformed into a kaleidoscope of color, laughter, and energy as students took part in the annual WHES Color Run. Under sunny skies, students ran, walked, and danced their way around the track while being showered in vibrant bursts of color—creating a joyful celebration of school spirit and community support.
This year’s Color Run was more than just a fun event—it was a powerful fundraiser driven by the generosity of families, friends, and the community. Students collected donations leading up to the event, working together toward grade-level goals and exciting rewards. From popsicles and extra recess to pizza parties and even an inflatable celebration, the incentives added an extra layer of excitement and teamwork.
New for 2026, grade levels competed to earn the top prize, encouraging collaboration and school-wide enthusiasm. Every student who collected donations was also entered into a raffle for prizes, including Trash Pandas gifts and family passes to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
Thanks to the incredible support of the WHES community, the school not only met its fundraising goal of $10,000—but surpassed it, raising an impressive total of $10,395. These funds will directly support programs, events, and equipment that enrich student learning experiences at Weatherly Heights.
From colorful smiles to unforgettable memories, the 2026 Color Run was a shining example of what makes the Roadrunner community so special. Thank you to everyone who contributed, volunteered, and cheered on our students—we couldn’t have done it without you!
