We are kicking off the school year with a positive challenge for all of our Roadrunners! As part of our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program, students are encouraged to demonstrate positive choices throughout the school day by following our STAR Behavior Expectations.
Throughout August, our school-wide goal is for students to follow our STAR expectations with no discipline referrals and no bus write-ups.
At Weatherly Heights, being a STAR means:
S – Stay Safe
T – Take Ownership
A – Arrive Ready
R – Respond Respectfully
PBIS helps create a positive school environment by teaching students what successful behavior looks like, recognizing positive choices, and encouraging students to take responsibility for their actions. Our STAR expectations apply throughout the school day, including classrooms, hallways, common areas, and on the school bus.
Students who meet the August behavior goal will celebrate their success with a Popsicle Party and Extra Recess on Friday, September 4!
Families can help by talking with students about what it means to be a STAR and encouraging them to make safe, responsible, ready, and respectful choices each day.
We are excited to start the year by working together to make August a positive, respectful, and successful month for all of our Roadrunners!
