Williams Elementary School turned College and Career Readiness into a school wide celebration! From kindergarten through fifth grade, students explored who they want to be and the paths that can help them get there one themed day at a time.

We kicked off the week with “Use Your Head,” as students and staff wore their favorite hats to symbolize thinking smart and making good choices. On “College Day,” Hawks brought campus pride to our hallways as teachers shared fun facts about their alma maters and led mini-lessons on majors, mascots, and scholarships. On “Purple Heart Day,” Hawks proudly honored our military families. During “The Future Is Bright,” everyone wore neon and sunglasses to symbolize bright futures ahead. We wrapped up the week with Hawk Spirit Day, reminding everyone that it all starts here—today’s effort builds tomorrow’s opportunities.

While the themed days brought plenty of fun, the learning ran even deeper. Students set personal goals, built college and career vocabulary (major, résumé, internship), reflected on their dreams through writing, and used math to graph their class’s career interests. Each activity helped students connect what they’re learning now to their future opportunities.

Most importantly, our youngest Hawks learned that big dreams start with small daily choices showing up, working hard, and being kind.

College and Career Week made one thing clear: the future is bright, and our Hawks are ready to chase it!
