Williams Middle School

On February 28, 2025, a student STEM Ambassador at UAH, Emily Meyer, came to speak to Mrs. Osborne's science classes. Emily is a member of the Alabama Space Grant Consortium. The presentation provided a fun introduction to the basic coding ideas, giving students a behind-the-scenes view of basic motion controls. In groups, students used their ELEGOO robots to acquire science targets and avoid hazards to learn about how real Mars exploration rovers, like the Curiosity mission, navigate and conduct investigations. Students loved being able to be hands-on and connect their robot movement to real-life experiences on Mars.
