Two students preforming at the Black History Program at Williams Middle School.

This year's Black History program bridged the gap through dance, spoken word, music, and more. Each person represented a different time bracket in African American history. From Maya Angelo to the soulful song that fueled our hearts, entitled Lift Every Voice, to the heart of Africa, the sound of drums and the disco beats that brought both young and old to their feet. The purpose of the program was to carry away a sense of value, honor, and respect for each African American in history who paved the way for each of us to soar.  African American contributions in science, politics, and the arts proved that Black history is a history that should never be forgotten.
