6th grade students at the Planetarium during their field trip to the US Space and Rocket Center.

6th-grade students traveled to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for an exciting day of learning about space exploration and Huntsville’s important role in the U.S. space program. During the visit, students watched an immersive planetarium show that explored space and astronomy through engaging visuals and storytelling. They also experienced astronaut-style training by riding the G-Force Accelerator and Moon Shot rides, which simulate the powerful forces astronauts experience during launch. Throughout the day, students explored exhibits and learned more about how scientists, engineers, and astronauts in Huntsville have contributed to major space missions and advancements in space technology. The field trip helped connect classroom science concepts to real-world applications while inspiring curiosity about space and engineering.
