Williams Middle School welcomed Mr. Hilinski from Hilinski’s Hope, a national nonprofit dedicated to raising mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and helping young people understand the importance of asking for help. During a special presentation for WMS eighth graders, Mr. Hilinski shared the story of his son, Tyler, whom the family lost to suicide. Through sharing Tyler’s story, he emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and encouraged students to recognize that asking for help is a sign of strength. Hilinski’s Hope strives to educate, encourage, and give hope to young people while reminding them that they are not alone. WMS is grateful for this meaningful opportunity to help students understand the importance of mental wellness and supporting one another.
