Instead of taking a trip to the beach or lounging around on the couch, junior Abigail Howard spent her week-long break volunteering in Valdosta, Georgia.
Howard worked with Samaritan's Purse to remove trees from houses and cars in the area hit hard by Hurricane Helene's high winds. Because she was one of the youngest volunteers, Howard was interviewed by Samaritan's Purse's media.
"It was an incredible way to spend fall break and Samaritan's Purse is an incredible organization," Howard said. "We were all given a place to sleep, showers and three meals a day."
