Fourth grader Charlotte LaVere was awarded an honorable mention for grades 3-4 for the artwork she submitted to the State Superintendent's Art Show.
She will receive a special award at the March 12 ceremony in Montgomery. The ceremony will be held at that Alabama Shakespeare Festival building. LaVere is the only student from Huntsville City Schools to have placed in the annual event.
"We are extremely proud of Charlotte's achievement," principal Dr. McKinney said. "She is a delightful and talented young lady that represents Artemis well."
