When students came on campus for the back-to-school orientation, they were greeted by new assistant principal Mark Fleetwood.

Fleetwood joined the staff in May from Huntsville High School where he served as the head football coach for seven years and most recently as assistant principal and athletic director.

"I am excited about being at Artemis and being a part of something from the ground floor and up," Fleetwood said. "I look forward to watching Artemis grow and being something that Huntsville City Schools can be proud of."

Besides being the self-proclaimed "assignment police," Fleetwood will be in charge of building operations, attendance and student progress.

"I just love being a part of anything that it takes to make Artemis successful," Fleetwood said. "I want to help provide a setting that will make our students be the best young women and young men.:
