Two Artemis students have recently been recognized for their artwork.
Fifth grader Charlotte LaVere's work will be displayed at the Huntsville Botanical Garden during the annual Galaxy of Light display that runs, Nov. 14-the month of December. LaVere was one of 12 chosen to recreate her drawing for the display.
"Charlotte has won several awards for her art in the past," art teacher Sabrina Priest said. "We're so proud to have such a talented artist being displayed at the Galaxy of Lights."
"Freshman Lillee Miller received an Honorable Mention for her self-portrait submitted to the Alabama National Fair School Art Show. Her artwork hung in the art tent at the annual Alabama State Fair in Montgomery. Miller will continue to highlight her work as an editor of the school's literary magazine staff, The Stargazer.
"It is exciting to have an artist like Lillee leading our first literary magazine," adviser Erin Coggins said. "She can not only contribute really good work, she will also be able to adequately assess the work from our contributors."
