Four students participated in the inaugural Artemis science fair and on to the district competition held at the Academy of Science and Foreign Language.
Seventh grader Jackson West won Best Overall for his project on volcanoes. Eighth grader Liana Mercado won Best Topic for her project on how instrumental music impacts student learning. Along with West and Mercado, seventh graders McKenzie Baker and Corbin Serrano earned the Emerging Scientists award.
"I was very pleased with the enthusiasm and interest of the students," science teacher Annette Perkins said. "Students were able to learn so much from actively engaging in the research process."
