Young male student stands with two other men celebrating his win in his first professional fight.

Having started training in the martial arts in the seventh grade, junior Kale Kendrick is dedicated to the sport.

Since his initial start in the sport, Kendrick has taken Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Jujutsu, earning awards and winning matches along the way.

In November, Kendrick traveled to Thailand to train in the sport.

"I trained for two hours at 8 a.m. and then for one hour at 11 a.m., then two hours at 3 p.m. and lastly, one hour at 6 p.m.," Kendrick said. "It was an intense schedule to make the most of my training at two different gyms and with a private trainer."

Kendrick's training paid off as he participated in his first professional fight, winning by a knockout in the first round.

Kendrick's goal is to continue his journey in the sport, continuing to train during the summers with a possible trip back to Thailand this fall. Attending Artemis allows Kendrick to train more hours in the local gym as well.

"I love to train. I want to become the One Championship champion for Muay Thai or MMA, and open my own gym one day," Kendrick said.
