Teachers and seniors, dressed in their graduation regalia, walk into the Von Braun Center.

On Friday, May 22, Artemis seniors walked across the stage in the Von Braun Center's Area.

The second graduation for the school saw 63 students participate in the ceremony, with an additional 14 earning diplomas.

"I loved seeing that our senior class and our school overall is growing," principal Dr. Jennifer McKinney said.

McKinney's speech to the Class of 2026 focused on the success of the recent NASA Artemis mission, and how the city of Huntsville never gave up on the dream of putting man on the moon.

"You, too, can strive for the stars and land on the moon," McKinney said. "Now, go out and shine."

Senior class president, Julia Manley, addressed her classmates with an inspiring speech on moving forward, and how Artemis prepared them to do so.

"This school has proved to house those who need something different, who need change. Every single student sitting in front of me right now has trod a different path to end up in this kind of school," Manley said. "This school is not labeled virtual as an excuse to be different, rather as a way to hold the title of discipline and compassion."

As the Class of 2026 walked across the stage, they received a handshake and a hug from McKinney.

"The best part of job is standing on that stage and watching our seniors walk into the arena," McKinney said. "They are just walking in, but that simple moment makes me proud and emotional."
