Here's a look at what's happening in DA NEST this week:
Announcements
Special Shoutout to Sean Banks and Ana Hernandez Oropesa for winning the PTA Reflection Awards last week. Sean won the category of film and Ana won for Visual Arts. Great job, you two!
Band will travel to Hartselle on Wednesday for a Field Trip.
SPED department will have a field trip on Thursday to the local DMV office.
ACT Boot Camp Thursday and Friday.
JROTC will travel for state drill competition on Friday to AAMU.
Athletes read to elementary students for Read Across America on Friday.
Perfect Attendance Celebration will be on Friday during F45.
Academics
We will start preparation for ACT. 11th graders will have an ACT Bootcamp on Thursday and Friday.
The ACT will be administered on Tuesday, March 10th. Only 11th grade students will report to school on this day. Grades 9, 10 and 12 will have a virtual day.
Be sure to stay on top of your scholar's grades, you can do this by checking grades on Powerschool Parent Portal.
Attendance
Thank you to all the students and parents for emailing me whenever you are going to be absent. This has really helped our attendance rate, and I ask we please continue this. Let's finish the school year strong and go over our 95% attendance rate.

Tuesday
Tennis will host Mae Jemison on Tuesday with matches beginning at 3:30 PM.
Baseball team will host DAR on Tuesday with game starting at 4:30 PM.
Softball will host Decatur on Tuesday with game starting at 4:30 PM.
Wednesday
Golf Teams will play against Mae Jemison at Robert Trent Jones on Wednesday.
Thursday
Tennis will host New Hope matches will start at 3:30 PM.
Softball will host Lee with game starting at 4:30 PM.
Friday
Athletes will travel to Ridgecrest to participate in Reading Across America.
Boys Soccer will travel to Decatur; game will start at 5:00 PM.
Baseball will host Buckhorn and game will start at 4:30 PM.
Saturday
Girl's and Boy's Track Team will be at Milton Frank Stadium starting at 9:00 AM.
