What an amazing day commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Challenger shuttle’s final mission.
On January 28th CMS honored the memory of the Challenger 7, our school’s legacy, and saw young people stirred up to explore the future. Love what our CES and CMS teams did together to recognize the 40th anniversary of the Challenger disaster. We hosted special visitors and fantastic speakers including Captain Robert “Hoot” Gibson. He flew alongside other astronauts of that time, even on the Challenger, and delivered an inspiring message of his time with NASA and beyond
Also would love to recognize Christa McAuliffe, who was set to be the first teacher to be in space, would be proud of the next generation of young people as well as the educators who lead them.
What an opportunity for our students to be able to hear Captain Gibson speak and learn about the Challenger, we hope they carry this memory with them. We love Challenger!
