Additive Manufacturing teacher, Ricky Washburn, is excited to announce that his Additive Manufacturing program has officially uncrated its first Markforged hybrid FX10 3D printer! "This advanced machine represents a major step forward in our ability to provide students with hands-on experience using state-of-the-art manufacturing technology," said Mr. Washburn.
The Markforged hybrid FX10 3D printer has the capability to print a wide range of materials including stainless steel and nylon reinforced with continuous strand carbon fiber. This printer opens the door to new levels of creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application in engineering and design.
Markforged informed Mr. Washburn that Huntsville City Schools is the first school system in the southeast to purchase the FX10 with the metal printing ability.
A sincere thank you to Huntsville City Schools for making this investment in our students’ future. This technology will not only enhance classroom learning, but also better prepare our students for the growing opportunities in advanced manufacturing and engineering fields
